Queen Camilla has travelled back to the UK alone while King Charles has arrived in Bermuda after he and Camilla ended their four-day state visit to the US, hosted by Donald Trump and First Lady, Melania Trump.
Before departing, the King and Queen expressed their gratitude on X, writing: “We leave a piece of our heart behind and take a little of yours back home with us. Until the next time, God Bless America.”
On their last day, the royal couple got a formal farewell from President Donald Trump and Melania Trump at the White House, laid a wreath at Arlington Cemetery and attended a block party in Virginia.
Following the conclusion of the US visit, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the royal tour will continue with an official visit to Bermuda, marking the King’s first trip to a British Overseas Territory since his accession.
The Bermuda leg of the tour will take place from April 30 to May 2 and will focus on celebrating the island’s culture, environment, youth programmes and public service. It is also expected to highlight the constitutional and historical ties between Bermuda and the UK.
The programme in Bermuda is set to include a ceremonial welcome, complete with a Guard of Honour and a 21-gun salute, reflecting traditional royal protocol.
The King is also expected to formally open a new coastguard facility, underlining the importance of maritime security and environmental protection in the region.
Meanwhile, Camilla will continue conducting royal engagements in the UK.
