Dolly Parton has announced she has been forced to cancel her Las Vegas residency due to health issues.
Taking to Instagram on May 4, the Jolene singer gave a health update via a glamorous video, which saw her dressed in a black and pink sparkling top, which she paired with pink glittery earrings and a full face of makeup, in true Dolly style.
“First, it’s concerning my health – and I have some good news and a little bad news. But the good news is I’m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I’m improving every day.
“Now, the bad news is that it’s gonna take me a little while before I’m up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little swimmy-headed, as my grandma used to say.”
Dolly continued, “And of course, I can’t be dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars, and such on five-inch heels, and you know that I’m going to be wearing them! Not to mention, all those heavy rhinestone outfits, the big hair, my big… uh, personality. Lord knows that would make anybody swimmy-headed!
“But just think of me as an old classic car, that once restored, can be better than ever! But when they raised the hood on this old antique, they realized that I need to rebuild my engine!”
Dolly then added, “I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas. “Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… And I’ll see you somewhere down the line.”
This is not the first time the beloved singer-songwriter has had to postpone her Las Vegas residency.
In September 2025, shortly after the passing of her husband Carl Dean in March, Dolly announced on Instagram that six dates of her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace would be postponed due to “health challenges.”
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she said. “As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
She told fans that she needed more time to get “show ready,” and that fans shouldn’t worry about her “quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” though she said she needed to “slow down.”
