Harry and William were said to be particularly close; however, in recent years, they are thought to not be on speaking terms. And although the royals have never commented on the feud, much of it and Harry’s estrangement from the Firm has been blamed on the Duchess of Sussex.
But now a royal author claimed that Meghan was never really the cause behind any friction and that the two brothers’ relationship was damaged long before she came into the picture.
Royal author Christopher Andersen told Page Six: “People didn’t really acknowledge the fact that there was all this tension between Harry and William ever since they were small children, wrestling in the back of the car.”
Mr Andersen claimed that it was made “very clear” to Prince Harry from early on that he was “lesser than” William.
And he said that it “left a real mark on them and really kind of doomed their relationship, ultimately.”
In his memoir, Spare, Harry wrote about how he felt different from William.
He said that William was given a nicer bedroom in Kensington Palace when they were little.
He wrote: “My half of the room was far smaller, less luxurious.
“I never asked why. I didn’t care. But I also didn’t need to ask.”
