An insider has shut down rumours of Meghan Markle‘s alleged Netflix plans regarding a major “crybaby” documentary about her “seven years of woe”. The Duchess of Sussex has released several projects on Netflix, including her latest cooking show, With Love, Meghan, which ran for two seasons and featured a Christmas special.
But apart from her first bombshell docuseries with Prince Harry in 2022, the rest of the couple’s projects failed to spark interest and gathered low rankings. However, another alleged “deeply personal” offering was rumoured to be dominating discussions as the Duchess weighed her next move. Insiders dubbed the rumours “total nonsense”, telling the Daily Express that “nothing is planned”.
It comes weeks after Meghan was seen rubbing shoulders with Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and his wife Nicole Avant at a private event in Montecito, California, for the second season of Beef.
Radar Online published a story this week claiming the Duchess and Netflix are considering a potential bombshell about the Duchess’s life over the last seven years.
A source claimed: “Meghan views this as a decisive shift in momentum – in her mind, she’s moved back into a position of strength when it comes to her partnership with Netflix.”
They added: “There’s an increasing sense among people close to the situation that she’s gearing up to share her story in a far more unfiltered and emotionally driven way than anything she’s done before for Netflix.
“It will essentially be another crybaby performance from Meghan, but she needs to make cash somehow!”
The source added that the new project could be framed as a deeply personal account for the duchess, including her time in the royal spotlight and the pressures and sense of isolation that she faced.
But a source close to the Duchess insisted to the Daily Express that “nothing is planned”, describing the claims as “total nonsense”.
With Love, Meghan’s second season plunged in ratings as it was the 1,224th most-watched programme on Netflix between July and December 2025
The hour-long holiday special, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, was also poorly received, ranking 1,022nd overall.
The show’s first season, while initially met with interest when it was released last March, failed to maintain momentum and nosedived to the 383rd spot with 5.3 million views.
