People love The Devil Wears Prada like never before — and the numbers prove it.
According to Deadline, the sequel film starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt earned $101.8 million nationally and $222.2 million overseas during its premiere week, for a whopping $324 million worldwide.
After its second weekend, the movie has grossed over $433 million at the box office, significantly outpacing the $326.5 million the original 2006 film grossed during its entire theatrical run.

Packed with star-studded cameos and high-end fashion, the new movie, which hit theaters on May 1, picks up 20 years from where the original left off, with Andie Sachs (Hathaway) once again working alongside Miranda Priestly (Streep) at iconic fashion magazine Runway, this time in a new role amid a changing media landscape.
In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE, Streep, 76, said that she “liked discovering [Miranda] again,” and that returning to the character for a third time would come down to the script.
“A good script. It’s all about the script,” Blunt, 43, agreed, with Hathaway, 43, adding that “then, everybody has to say yes.”
Even the movie’s director, David Frankel, isn’t ruling out making a third movie in the franchise.
“It took us 20 years to do [Devil Wears Prada 2]. And I said, ‘Never again,’ [previously], and here we are,” he told Variety in a recent interview. “So, I certainly would never say, ‘Never again,’ again. Let’s see what happens.”
“If there was an opportunity to revisit the characters and to share a few months with these wonderful actors again, obviously, I’d love it,” Frankel added.
