You didn’t really think Bravo would let the opening of The Vanderpump Hotel go unnoticed, did you?
The gossip-worthy cable channel has been covering arguably its biggest star as she transforms the hotel formerly known as The Cromwell for “Vanderpump Rules: Lisa Las Vegas.”
“Lisa Vanderpump has been ruling over the Las Vegas strip (sic) for years now, with three hotspot restaurants serving up chic cocktails in her signature whimsical settings,” Bravo said in a news release announcing the show.
“In this limited series,” the release continued, “we follow the behind-the-scenes dash to make the property worthy of the Vanderpump brand. LVP shares what inspired her newest enterprise and pulls back the curtain on the down-to-the-wire drama.”
It’s the latest transformation of the Caesars Entertainment-owned property that opened in 1979 as the Barbary Coast. In 2008, it was rebranded as Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon in honor of Harrah’s Entertainment founder William Harrah. During a renovation in 2013, the hotel was briefly known as the Gansevoort before it reopened in 2014 as The Cromwell.
“It’s such a compliment that Caesars feels invested enough in me,” Vanderpump told the Review-Journal during a sit-down interview at November’s BravoCon. “When you look at the side of a building and you see Flamingo, you see Planet Hollywood, you see Caesars Palace, you see The Linq. Now you’re going to see Vanderpump, personalized for me. I think that shows great confidence.”
The Vanderpump Hotel is the fourth local collaboration between the London-born restaurateur and Caesars Entertainment. Vanderpump Cocktail Garden opened at Caesars Palace in 2019, followed by Vanderpump á Paris at Paris Las Vegas in 2022 and Pinky’s by Vanderpump inside the Flamingo in 2024. She and her husband, Ken Todd, also have Wolf by Vanderpump locations at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe and Caesars Republic Scottsdale.
Vanderpump and her design partner, Nick Alain, reimagined the boutique hotel’s 188 rooms, as well as the reception and check-in area and common areas. They also created a new lounge. The design, according to Caesars Entertainment, “embraces Vanderpump Alain’s ‘industrial romantic’ style.”
“They give me autonomy,” Vanderpump said of Caesars executives in November. “I will run the concept by them, and I’ll show them the creative that’s very detailed, and they’ll be like, ‘Go with it.’ ”
Vanderpump rose to prominence in 2010 as part of the original cast of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” She added the spinoff “Vanderpump Rules,” set in her SUR Restaurant & Lounge in West Hollywood, California, in 2013. Vanderpump has gone on to executive produce the Vanderpump Cinematic Universe, populating Bravo and Peacock with “Vanderpump Dogs,” “Vanderpump Rules: Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky” and “The Valley.” The latter follows “Vanderpump Rules” alums and launched its own spinoff, “The Valley: Persian Style,” in January. “Vanderpump Villa,” meanwhile, airs on Hulu.
She’s also an executive producer on “Vanderpump Rules: Lisa Las Vegas” which, according to the release, “will culminate at The Vanderpump Hotel’s lavish opening party, with fan-favorite Bravolebrities celebrating the launch.”
Bravo hasn’t yet announced a premiere date for the series. The Vanderpump Hotel is scheduled to open this month.
