‘Memphis the Musical’

What: Set in Memphis’ smoky clubs of the 1950s, this Tony- and Olivier Award-winning musical tells the story of Huey Calhoun, a White radio DJ who dares to break the rules, and the talented Felicia Farrell, a Black club singer who is ready for her big break.

When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14-Saturday, May 16, and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17.

Where: Mauldin Cultural Center, 101 E. Butler Road, Mauldin.

Price: $20-$25, with discounts available for students, seniors and service members.

What: Enjoy authentic Greek music, dancing and shopping — oh, and food — right here in Greenville.

What: Those whose families have roots in Greer and surrounding communities are invited to bring family photos, papers and stories to a citywide History Drive, where organizers will make copies, preserve the stories and gather community history before it’s lost to time.

When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 16.

Where: Greer Heritage Museum, 106 S. Main St., Greer.

Price: Free.
