Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been left humiliated as he’s “left with just three members of staff” following his move to Norfolk earlier this year. In the updated paperback edition of his book, Entitled, author Andrew Lownie claims that the 66-year-old’s domestic arrangements have meant that he is now left with a scaled-down staff.
Andrew had previously lived at Royal Lodge in Windsor since 2004, where it was reported that he was paying “peppercorn rent”. Discussing the royal’s staffing situation, the author wrote: “Andrew now had to rely on just a housekeeper, a cook and a general aide, alongside a team of police protection officers.
“His only other company were two corgis that had once belonged to the late Queen and several Norfolk terriers.”
His current property, Marsh Farm, is much smaller in comparison to the Grade-II mansion in Windsor. The royal, who also lost his royal title and honours last year, has experienced a fall from grace following his connection to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew – who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing – previously lived at Royal Lodge with Sarah Ferguson, whom he divorced in 1996.
The royal occupied Wood Farm following his move to Norfolk, before his permanent move to Marsh Farm last month.
A source previously told The Sun: “It will likely be a skeleton staff at best. It’s possible for the first time in his life he will have to open the front door to people himself.
A source has also claimed that the number of staff who have refused to work with Andrew is a “long list”.
They said: “They’ve been told they don’t have to serve Andrew or work for him if they feel uncomfortable. There is already quite a list saying no thanks. There is understandably a lot of disquiet as he is now a total pariah.
“But there is also a worry that once he gets comfortable at Wood Farm while Marsh Farm is being finished, they will never get him out again.”
