Meghan Markle has impressed Nicky Haslam, who even praised her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. The 44-year-old is undoubtedly controversial, with much criticism following her every move – especially her attempts to build her personal brand and the Sussex brand.
Speaking about Meghan, Nicky – who is an interior designer whose client list included Mick Jagger – has revealed that he admires the former working royal for “all the wrong reasons”. He told HELLO!: “There’s something oddly touching about her. These programmes where she puts flowers on top of cakes: Kirstie Allsopp used to do that and nobody criticised her.
“I rather like the fact that it’s all manufactured. I’ve got a sneaking love of fakes. They’re amusing. Non-fakes – serious people – are frightfully boring.”
Sharing that he admires her “guts” and believes that she is making Prince Harry happy, he added he feels about the life that Meghan is currently living in the US.
He added: “Wouldn’t I rather be living in a lovely house in Montecito with film stars and going to premieres? I would.”
Meghan Markle stepped down from royal life in 2020 alongside Harry, with the couple moving to California with their son, now seven-year-old Prince Archie.
The couple later welcomed Princess Lilibet into their family in June 2021.
Meghan launched her brand, As Ever, in April 2025, and it has since launched multiple products.
The first launch last year sold out within minutes, and since then, further products such as wine, edible flower petals, and candles have been released.
To coincide with the official launch of As Ever, Netflix released the first series of With Love, Meghan. The second series was released in August 2025, followed by a Christmas episode last December.
