The Hills are Alive Spring Music Series
KZSM 104.1, Meshed Up Productions and Roughhouse Brewing are putting on a new music series in San Marcos. The event music series runs once per month through June and features full bands from Austin to San Antonio, including award-winning local acts. On May 23, The Rock Bottom String Band will perform at 7 p.m. and Mitch Webb & the Swindles will perform at 8 p.m. On June 20, the Ruby Dice performs at 7 p.m. and Jomo and the Possum Posse perform at 8 p.m. Families are invited to attend and grab food and drinks on-site.
Summer Reading Kick-Off
The Buda Library will celebrate the start of summer and the Summer Reading Program with this event. The event will begin with sensory-sensitive-friendly time from 5-5:30 p.m. Family fun will include art projects, foam mania with Big Time Bubbles and more. It is recommended to bring a towel and swimsuit.
Older Adults Resource Fair
The city of Buda is bringing together local organizations, educational opportunities and community resources to support healthy aging in place. The resource fair will feature local organizations with information tables, and attendees can attend educational sessions from 11 a.m. to noon and noon to 1 p.m. on the topics of AI and Aging, Hays Central Appraisal District Property Taxes and Streaming 101. Members of the Buda Commission on Aging will also be available to speak with community members on needs and priorities in the community.

June Movie in the Park
Hosted by the city of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department, the June Movie in the Park will feature “A Minecraft Movie.” Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, and vendors will be on-site selling snacks and drinks.

Texas Water Safari
Starting at the headwaters of the San Marcos River and stretching 260 miles to the Gulf until paddlers make it to Seadrift, Texas, the 63rd annual canoe race will take place in June. Competitors have 100 hours to cross the finish line and secure the Texas Water Safari finisher’s patch, according to the event website. An awards ceremony will take place at Bill Sanders Memorial Park in Seadrift at the end of the event.

Stewy’s Summer Broadway Cabaret
