Kiefer Sutherland will not be touring the U.S. this year as previously planned.
The 24 star and musician — whose fourth album is slated to be released at the end of May — announced Friday that he has canceled the next leg of his tour, which was slated to begin in New York this July.
“With great disappointment I am going to have to cancel the U.S. leg of my tour due to very low ticket sales,” Sutherland, 59, wrote on Instagram. “I don’t think it’s fair to the people who bought tickets, or the venues, to play to half empty houses.
“I look forward to touring the United States again at a more suitable time,” he continued. “I hope you understand.”
The actor noted at the bottom of his post that refunds will be available from the point of purchase.
Just two U.S. dates remain on Sutherland’s website, including a Connecticut casino in June and a Las Vegas resort in July.
Sutherland is in the midst of the U.K. leg of his tour, with upcoming performances in Manchester, Belfast, Dublin and Cardiff, among others.
He recently announced his fourth album, Grey, which will be released May 29.
“The songs were written and recorded over a two-year period from 2024 to 2026,” Sutherland wrote in a note posted to his website. “In many ways these songs mark a growth for me personally, as I wrote less about observations and more about personal feelings that I have been navigating in my own life.”
Sutherland was arrested in January after he allegedly threatened a ride share driver in California. He was charged with a felony and released on $50,000 bail. The case was still being reviewed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as of March.

On screen, Sutherland is best known for playing federal agent Jack Bauer on Fox’s hit series 24, which earned him Emmy and Golden Globe awards. He has also appeared in Stand by Me, The Lost Boys, Flatliners and A Few Good Men.
Sutherland isn’t the only artist to cancel a tour this year.
After announcing their reunion tour, the Pussycat Dolls later canceled all but one show, reportedly due to poor ticket sales.
The girl group, comprised of Ashley Roberts, Nicole Scherzinger, and Kimberly Wyatt, shared the news on Instagram earlier this month, writing, “When we announced the PCD Forever Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world. After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.”
