With Ghostbusters Day 2026 less than three weeks away, the Buffalo Ghostbusters have made another major wave of announcements tied to this year’s celebration, confirming the first round of guests, live entertainment, additional exclusive collectibles, and much more, all set to take over New York City’s Hook & Ladder 8 on June 6th.
Among the latest reveals is the return of the Yes Have Some Podcast kickoff party, once again helping launch Ghostbusters Day weekend festivities with a live show featuring surprise guests, an open bar, exclusive merchandise, and more. Tickets for the event are scheduled to go on sale tomorrow, May 19th, at 11:00 AM EST through the podcast’s online store, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Outside of the happenings at Hook & Ladder 8 itself, the Buffalo Ghostbusters have also confirmed that both food trucks and restrooms will be part of this year’s event, addressing two of the most frequently requested additions from fans attending the annual gathering outside the iconic firehouse.
Meanwhile, the first wave of guest announcements has begun rolling out, including the return of Joe Cirillo, remembered by fans as the police captain who memorably tells off Walter Peck during Ghostbusters’ containment unit shutdown scene. Cirillo’s appearance will operate under a “Pay What You Can Afford” format, allowing attendees to receive an autograph in exchange for a donation to the event. Fans will be able to bring their own item to sign or select from available 8×10 prints, while Cirillo will also have copies of his memoir, An Offer I Couldn’t Refuse: From the NYPD to Hollywood, available for purchase.

Entertainment-wise, organizers have also announced the return of several familiar performers. The Alessi Brothers, known for their heroic anthem “Saving the Day,” are set to perform live during the event alongside Philadelphia-based punk-rock band, The Mad Splatter. Also returning is DJ STEVE-O, who kept crowds dancing throughout last year’s rainstorm-filled celebration.
The latest updates also circle back to the recently announced Kenner-inspired “Mystery Medallions,” with the Buffalo Ghostbusters now confirming special “What If?” variants. Inspired by The Real Ghostbusters toyline, the alternate medallions reimagine classic role-play gear using film-inspired color schemes, including the Proton Pack, PKE Meter, Ghost Trap, Firehouse, and Ecto Charger, all packaged inside mystery envelopes.

The variant medallions will be randomly inserted at a 1:4 ratio, giving collectors a chase-style incentive alongside the standard lineup. As previously announced, the medallions will measure 1.5 inches, slightly smaller than this year’s previously revealed 2-inch challenge coin, and will be priced at $15 USD each or $25 USD for two.
Alongside the newly revealed additions, fans can currently pick up several previously announced Ghostbusters Day 2026 fundraiser exclusives, including the glow-in-the-dark fundraiser patch and this year’s official Ghostbusters Day t-shirt. Proceeds from this year’s merchandise efforts will support the FDNY Foundation, benefiting firefighter initiatives, safety programs, and community outreach throughout New York City.
