TikTok is kicking off its latest campaign focusing on classical music, and it has a familiar star on board: Chinese pianist Lang Lang.
He previously worked with TikTok by creating a guest playlist and playing a livestreamed concert on the app in 2021, at which point he had nearly 128,000 followers there. Just over four years later, he now has nearly 521,000.
The new campaign is also focused on livestreaming. ‘Lang Lang Live: Beyond the Keys’ begins today with a live interview on TikTok by creator Molly Allin.
The campaign will see creators in the UK, US, Germany, France, Italy and Poland joining in over the course of this month, finishing up with an “offline creator event and livestream experience” in Germany on 12 June.
TikTok’s announcement came with some stats. In the first four months of 2026, it says it has hosted more than 3m live music sessions (i.e. music livestreams) in Europe alone.
The company also said that there are nearly 1m TikTok posts using its flagship #ClassicalMusic hashtag, as activity from musicians continues to grow on the platform.
