New details have emerged after Britney Spears’ DUI arrest in March, which saw the star get arrested after she was allegedly seen driving erratically at high speeds on the southbound side of US-101 near Newbury Park, California.
During the arrest, after four bottles of wine, the star was slurring her words as she claimed she could ‘take care of you’ to the police.
She allegedly told an officer, “I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you, I’m an angel.”
According to California Highway Patrol, Spears was stopped and arrested on “suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs.”
A police report from the arrest shines a new and concerning light on the events of the night, and unveils that the former pop star admitted to police she had taken ‘Adderall and Prozac’ as well as had a mimosa before driving.
The report, which was initially obtained by Us Weekly, reveals that officers detected “a distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage” from inside Spears’ BMW while being pulled over.
She was first stopped by officers after her car was caught illegally crossing into another lane. “[The subject] continued to drive in the #2 lane and did not immediately react to my emergency lights. I activated the [police car’s] siren to get the driver’s attention,” an officer wrote.
After a physical check-up on the scene, officers reported that Spears had ‘red and watery eyes’ as well as dilated pupils. Spears also claimed that she was a ‘zero’ on a sobriety scale of zero to 10.
