The latest update to our Discovery Playlist is here; with ten new tracks added across Apple Music and Spotify, including one exclusive premiere from earlier in the week. Our Track of the Week is Swapmeet’s “2 C U”, with the Adelaide outfit delivering a hazy, lofi slice of restrained infatuation that instantly got under our skin.

Built around grainy guitar textures, shoegaze-adjacent warmth and an understated sense of yearning, “2 C U” captures the nervous anticipation of wanting to see someone without ever tipping into melodrama. Instead, Swapmeet let the tension simmer beneath the surface, with the dual vocals of Maxwell Elphick and Venus O’Broin drifting effortlessly through the track’s infectious, see-sawing rhythm. It’s one of those tracks that pulls you deeper with every listen. It’s another sharp reminder of why Swapmeet are fast becoming one of Australia’s most talked-about emerging bands, with their debut album Mount Zero set to arrive on  the 17th of July.

This week sees Adelaide’s PASH release their self-titled EP; the culmination of what has already been a busy and successful year – with a run of sold-out headline shows, a Laneway Festival debut, and more already under their belts. And it sounds like that is just the start. The six track EP features already released singles, “East End Girls”, “Ricochet” and “Tracy”, and our playlist add “Solid Ground” – it’s big, bold, and delivered with just an overflow of swagger and style that kind of feels like from an earlier era. Boybands are back, but not as you know it.

JACOTÉNE continues to prove why she’s one of Australia’s most compelling young voices with “TELL ME (I HEARD IT FROM MY FATHER)”, a stirring and deeply emotional release that steadily builds from brooding introspection into a soaring, cathartic crescendo. Self-described as an “anthem for the ones who want to feel appreciated”, the track leans into the raw vulnerability and commanding vocal presence that have quickly become her trademark.

We’ve been obsessed with JACOTÉNE ever since first catching her at Laneway Festival back in 2023. She possesses one of those rare voices that genuinely sends shivers down your spine .At just 20 years old, JACOTÉNE already sounds like an artist operating well beyond her years.

We featured Johanna Samuels a few months ago with her single “White Limousine” and we couldn’t resist sharing her new single “Circles” on the playlist. The single is from her freshly announced studio album Sorry Kid (out August 14th) and features some gorgeous harmonies from Tyler Ballgame. Thematically it explores the loops and patterns of human experience, whilst also playing with some of those themes musically too, opening with a cyclical wurlitzer motif. It’s full of warmth, whimsy and charm. We can’t wait for the album to come out in a couple of months.

Fool Nelson continue their upward trajectory with “KEEPSAKE”, a heartfelt indie-rock anthem that balances unpolished grit with genuine emotional warmth. Opening with Tom Broadbent’s tender croon over rustic guitar chords, the track gradually builds through soaring pre-choruses before erupting into a cathartic guitar-led release. We caught the band in the UK last week at The Great Escape, where their ripping indie guitar sound and magnetic live energy quickly won over a legion of new fans. Another exciting rising force from Western Australia, they feel destined for much bigger stages.

Jamie Webster returns with “Just Begun”, an uplifting and reflective slice of indie-folk that finds the Liverpool singer-songwriter leaning into themes of identity, mental wellbeing and self-acceptance, all wrapped in the kind of anthemic songwriting that has made him one of the UK’s most beloved modern voices. The track arrives alongside news of Webster’s forthcoming fourth album Running Round The Sun, due September 4. If you’re a fan of Frank Turner, there’s every chance you’ll fall hard for Jamie Webster.

“P Stands for Paddy” is the first release from Ireland’s Absolute Lilt on label Heavenly Records. The duo, made up of friends Lisa Canny and Niamh Hinchy, offer up a modern take on one of Ireland’s oldest vocal traditions: lilting. The duo launched themselves online back in 2024 and have already amassed a large following across social media. The track itself is a delight, and a really fun time. The vocals are simply sublime, and the single wears its traditional elements quite lightly, but proudly nonetheless. Swirling, hypnotic, we wouldn’t be surprised if a dance remix turns up before too long.

Also added to the playlist this week are new tracks from UK four piece daresay and Norway’s Velcro Dog. Fresh from an appearance at The Great Escape last week, daresay have announced the release of their debut EP accompanied by the quietly empowering “little things”.  Meanwhile, Velcro Dog releases his first new music since 2022’s Misanthropology with new single “The Gonzo Futurist Manifesto”, which is the first taste of his new album Fjord Noir (Out September 18th). Musically it’s perhaps a touch more uplifting than his 2022 work, but don’t let those major chords fool you. Finally, we’ve also added “Flowers in My Hair” from Katy Denney, which we premiered earlier in the week.
