Before the arrival of Iceman, Adin Ross says Drake sent him some tracks from the album so that he could share them with a family member before they passed away.
“I had a family member who passed,” Ross said during a recent livestream. “And they were waiting on Iceman. I had a chance before… Drake sent me songs, so I can, you know. So, Drake’s a real one for that, bro. Like, Drake had sent me songs, a while back, so what I’m saying is that at least that person could at least hear something, you know what I’m saying? Obviously, not knowing what would happen, but it was awesome.”
When Iceman finally dropped last week, alongside two other full-length Drake albums, it was met with a wave of excitement from his fans. As his first solo project following his huge beef with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, Drizzy clearly felt as though he had something to prove with the project.
Adin Ross has made it clear that he’s a huge fan of the Canadian superstar and has previously done several collaborative streams with him. He also got a shout-out on Iceman in a line that also disses Rick Ross. “Dawg, I was aidin’ Ross with streams before Adin Ross had ever streamed,” Drake raps on “Make Them Pay.”
When Ross streamed his live reaction to the album, he expressed a lot of excitement about the name drop. “What the fuck?” he screamed. “Yo! Holy shit. What the fuck? I made it! … Chat, on my mom and dad’s life—on my sister’s, on everything, I didn’t know I was there. I swear to God, he never told me. That’s crazy.”
Drake also hopped on a brief FaceTime call with Ross during the stream, and Ross congratulated him. “Hey bro, you did. The entire chat, the entire world—you did it, bro,” Ross told Drake. “I love you.” Drake responded, “I love you, too.”
