KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s been an abysmal season for the Kansas City Royals so far, who have lost six games in a row for the third time this season.
This comes after a 6-3 loss to the Texas Rangers on Sunday, completing the second straight sweep of the Royals.

The Rangers jumped out to a 6-0 lead by the bottom of the fourth inning, in large part thanks to a four-run fourth inning.
It was a rough outing for Michael Wacha (4-3), who has been the Royals’ best pitcher this season.
He went five innings, giving up eight hits and six earned runs along with four walks and five strikeouts.
The Royals did add an inconsequential three runs in the seventh and eighth innings after a Michael Massey two-run home run in the eighth.
Right now, there are a lot more questions than answers with this Royals club after coming into the season with their highest expectations in over a decade.

It remains to be seen if they’ll turn things around, but they are currently 22-37, have lost 16 of their last 19 and hold the second-worst record in baseball.
They will head to Cincinnati to face the Reds tomorrow at 6:10 p.m. Luinder Avila (0-2) will face Chase Burns (7-1).
