Donald Trump could still end up helping to doom Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, the comedian admitted in a candid new interview with Vulture.
Kimmel said in the lengthy profile published Monday that he believes there’s still a chance the president could jump on one of his on-air jokes and use it to pressure ABC into canceling the long-running program.

The president has long targeted Kimmel and frequently amplified right-wing outrage over the host’s jokes.
Most recently, Trump weighed in when Kimmel was temporarily suspended for his remarks following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and his later quip about “expectant widow” Melania Trump, the first lady.
In both of those cases, Kimmel told Vulture: “I had the truth on my side as a defense.”
But he asked: “What if I actually do do something wrong?”
Then he added with a laugh, “I mean, that’s inevitable.”
Kimmel, whose contract runs out in May 2027, also opened up about the end of “The Late Show,” hosted by his friend Stephen Colbert.
“I feel a little bit defeated by it,” he said. “In a lot of ways, I feel like I’m looking at my own future.”
Kimmel added of late-night shows in general, which are routinely targeted by Trump and members of his MAGA movement for their criticism of the president and his administration, “We’re not just dying of natural causes. We’re being poisoned.”
