Megan Thee Stallion is teasing new music as a newly single woman.
In an Instagram video shared on Tuesday (June 2), the rapper previewed an unreleased song set to a visual of herself partying with friends and enjoying drinks on a yacht.
The clip features Megan rapping, “All that wifey shit is dead/Put that shit to bed/l’ma make him beg, when I want some head.”
The teaser arrives more than a month after Megan, 31, confirmed her split from Klay Thompson, 36, to Complex through a representative.
On April 25, Megan shared an Instagram Story in which she appeared to accuse the Dallas Mavericks player of cheating.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet’ Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous???? bitch I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall,” she wrote at the time.
In a statement to Complex via her rep, Megan said, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
The former couple publicly debuted their relationship last July when Thompson accompanied Megan to the inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation benefit gala.
News of their split garnered various reactions from figures including DJ Akademiks, Mase, Ebro Darden, Stephen A. Smith, The Kid Mero, and even the official account for The Sims game.
WNBA player Lexie Brown also publicly denied rumors that linked her to the breakup and said the speculation led her to receiving “death threats.”
Some fans of Megan alleged they were contacting Etsy witches, presumably to hex Thompson.
The “Plan B” rapper, who had been starring in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway at the time of the breakup, was visibly emotional on stage just hours after news of the split emerged. She later exited the production earlier than planned, with her final performance taking place on May 1.
Days after news of the split, an undated video circulated online showing Thompson on an Instagram Live stream while boating. Without directly addressing anything, he said, “Good to be back on the high seas.”
Last Friday (May 29), Megan appeared to reference the breakup in a verse for Bossman Dlow’s new song, “Motion Party (Remix).”
“I ain’t goin’ through no phones, that shit stupid/If I catch a n***a cheatin’ on me, it’s deuces,” she raps on the track, adding, “Shit strict over here, I’m a rich bitch/Thought he did his big one ‘til he met the biggest.”
