FRANKLIN (Somerset) – A growing lineup of food and entertainment tenants is reshaping a busy township shopping center, with Wingstop the latest national chain to sign on.
The fast-casual chicken restaurant has leased 1,848 square feet at Rutgers Plaza, a 268,000-square-foot retail center anchored by Stop & Shop at Easton Avenue and JFK Boulevard.
Wingstop joins several recent additions, including MAWJ, a coffee and espresso concept, and Bounce Air Adventure Park, a large indoor entertainment venue now in development.
Levin Management Corp., which manages and leases the property, said demand from fast-casual restaurants and experiential businesses remains strong at suburban centers like Rutgers Plaza.
“Wingstop is a great addition to the tenant mix,” said Ed Vasconcellos, a leasing representative with the firm. “The brand delivers the quality, value and convenience today’s diners expect.”
CEO Matthew K. Harding said grocery-anchored centers continue to attract restaurant operators looking for consistent traffic driven by everyday shopping trips.
Rutgers Plaza already includes tenants such as Crunch Fitness, Dollar Tree, Chase Bank, McDonald’s and other service-oriented businesses.
