While Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, seem happy at their home with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, it seems that the cost of living there could become a problem. This is something US commentator Maureen Callahan claims she has heard, with rumours swirling that the royal couple may need to downsize. This is not something Harry and Meghan have spoken about themselves – however their representative has been contacted by the Daily Express for comment.
Speaking on The Royals Uncensored last week, Maureen Callahan – an American podcast host and columnist for the Daily Mail – told the podcast: “They are having a lot of trouble monetising what they used to monetise, which is their connection to the Royal Family, which was secrets of the Royal Family.
“The information supply has been choked off.
“So the stories are that they may need to downsize from that $14m Montecito mansion.”
The commentator said: “The reporting most recently in the celebrity.land is that she (Meghan) is actively looking for acting work, which is a far fall from her.”
Since quitting royal life and duty in 2020, Harry and Meghan have tried various ventures to fund their Montecito lifestyle.
This includes deals with Netflix and Spotify, as well as podcast launches and speaking gigs.
