News about a celebrity visiting businesses in downtown Sumner circulated on social media this week.
Dairy Freeze and Hometown Charm Cafe posted on their respective social media accounts after “Euphoria” actress Sydney Sweeney visited their businesses.
“Apparently our cinnamon rolls have fans in high places! Sydney Sweeney stopped in for breakfast again, and this time we managed to get a picture. Thanks for spending part of your morning with us, Sydney!” Hometown Charm Cafe wrote on Facebook Wednesday morning.
April McLean, owner of Hometown Charm Cafe, told The News Tribune in a phone call Thursday that Sweeney visited her business last year for Father’s Day. McClean said she went to Sumner High School with Sweeney’s father, and that the actress’ grandparents live in town. McLean said Sweeney stopped by the cafe Wednesday morning with her grandparents and her boyfriend, entrepreneur and music producer Scooter Braun.
The cafe wrote on Facebook Thursday they were “still smiling” after Sweeney visited their restaurant.
“What meant the most wasn’t just the visit — it was seeing how genuinely kind and down-to-earth she was. Sydney took time to chat with our hostess, Kelsey, asking about her recent prom and even talking with her about her dress. Those little moments of kindness are what leave a lasting impression,” the café wrote on Facebook.
They added: “It’s a reminder of why we love our small town, our café, and the wonderful community that makes it all so special.”
Dairy Freeze posted a picture of two employees with the actress on Instagram Tuesday.
“Thanks for stopping by Dairy Freeze today Sydney Sweeney!” The post said.
Sweeney is one of the main stars on the hit drama series, which had its finale this past Sunday.
