Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has sparked fresh speculation after being photographed with a prominent facial bruise during a rare public appearance near his home on the royal family’s Sandringham estate.
The disgraced former Duke of York, 66, was seen driving near Marsh Farm in Norfolk on June 4, with photographs showing a large purple mark stretching from his right temple across his cheek and towards his eye.
While the injury immediately drew attention, a source close to Andrew sought to downplay concerns, telling the Daily Mail the bruise was not a “cause for concern” and that there had been “no drama.”

Andrew has been living on the Sandringham Estate since February after leaving Royal Lodge, the 30-room Windsor property he called home for decades. He initially stayed at the late Prince Philip’s Wood Farm residence before relocating to the renovated Marsh Farm property in April.
The move followed a tumultuous period for the King’s younger brother.
In October 2025, King Charles stripped Andrew of his remaining royal titles amid renewed scrutiny over his relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein.
The friendship with the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender had already forced Andrew to step back from public royal duties in 2019, although he has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
