For decades, Six Flags Great Adventure built its reputation on record-breaking roller coasters and high-thrill attractions. But over the past year, the New Jersey park has been steadily expanding its lineup of entertainment, seasonal festivals, and immersive experiences.
With a new parade, nighttime boardwalk entertainment, and a growing calendar of special events debuting this summer, those efforts are coming together as part of a broader push to give guests more to experience beyond the rides.
Six Flags Great Adventure may be best known for towering roller coasters like Kingda Ka’s successor-in-waiting, Project Purple, and fan favorites such as El Toro and Nitro, but the park is increasingly investing in experiences beyond its rides. This summer, guests will find a new parade, nighttime boardwalk entertainment, seasonal festivals, wildlife encounters, and more as the park continues to build out a year-round lineup of entertainment offerings.
Summer 2026 brings new entertainment and special events
A Great Day Parade debuts June 13
Beginning June 13, guests can watch the new A Great Day Parade twice daily as it travels through the park. The parade will feature characters, performers, and family-friendly entertainment as part of Great Adventure’s summer lineup.
Boardwalk Nights arrives at Shoreline Pier
Boardwalk Nights will take place on select evenings from June 19 through Aug. 2 at Shoreline Pier, the new seaside-inspired area at The Boardwalk.
The event will add live music, specialty performers, and additional entertainment to the area, which debuted earlier this year with new rides, games, dining locations, and waterfront-inspired theming.
Star-Spangled Nights celebrates America’s 250th anniversary
Six Flags Great Adventure will also host Star-Spangled Nights presented by M&M’S on July 3 and 4. The event will feature patriotic music, fireworks, and entertainment as part of nationwide celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.

DC Heroes & Villains Fest takes over select August nights
From Aug. 5 through Aug. 30, guests can encounter DC superheroes and supervillains during DC Heroes & Villains Fest.
The limited-time event will bring iconic DC characters face-to-face with guests throughout the park, including legendary heroes and notorious villains from across the comic book universe. Along with character encounters, guests can expect themed entertainment, interactive experiences, specialty food and beverage offerings, and opportunities to choose sides as the battle between good and evil unfolds. The event adds another seasonal experience to the park’s growing calendar of festivals and after-dark entertainment.
Recent additions have expanded experiences across the resort
Shoreline Pier opened this spring
The launch of Shoreline Pier marked one of the resort’s most significant additions for 2026. Located within The Boardwalk area, the new land introduced rides, midway games, dining locations, and gathering spaces inspired by classic Jersey Shore destinations.
Wild Safari continues to welcome new arrivals
Included with park admission, Wild Safari remains one of the property’s signature experiences. Guests visiting this summer can spot several new animal arrivals as part of an ongoing baby boom throughout the safari.
Dining updates arrive across the property
Six Flags Great Adventure has also introduced menu enhancements at several locations, including Main Street Pub, Best of the West, and Paradise Pizza & Grill at Hurricane Harbor New Jersey.

The Sawmill Log Flume is back
Another notable addition this season is the return of the Sawmill Log Flume, a classic attraction that reopened after an extended closure stemming from temporary closures back in 2021.

Seasonal events now span much of the calendar
Fright Fest gains a new signature experience
Earlier this year, Six Flags Great Adventure announced the return of Dead Man’s Party for Fright Fest. The live entertainment offering joins the park’s growing lineup of seasonal experiences and special events throughout the year.
Holiday in the Park expands with immersive themed areas
The park also recently unveiled plans for major changes to Holiday in the Park, including new themed lands, expanded décor, and additional seasonal entertainment.
The updates represent one of the largest investments in the event in recent years. Between new entertainment, seasonal celebrations, wildlife encounters, and the sight of Project Purple rising above the skyline, something is happening around nearly every corner. As summer unfolds, Six Flags Great Adventure is giving guests more ways to make a great day even greater.
