Bobby Shmurda‘s public criticism of Jay-Z isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
The Brooklyn rapper returned to Instagram this week with another round of posts aimed at the Roc Nation founder following his headline-grabbing freestyle performance at the Roots Picnic.
In one post, Shmurda shared a clip of an interview in which Jeezy discussed how Jay-Z opted not to shoot a music video for their collaboration “Seen It All” around the time Bobby’s breakout hit “Hot N***a” was dominating. Alongside the clip, Shmurda launched into a lengthy caption criticizing billionaires, major labels, and what he described as industry gatekeeping.
“As y’all said, this is a billionaire,” Shmurda wrote before accusing powerful figures in the music industry of taking advantage of younger artists and controlling opportunities behind the scenes.

The rapper also referenced his own legal troubles and incarceration, claiming that his career trajectory was affected by forces beyond his control. Shmurda suggested that unnamed industry figures benefited while younger artists like himself were left behind.
In a separate post, he alleged gatekeeping within hip-hop. Shmurda also appeared to double down on his frustrations with the music business while encouraging fans to support his outside ventures, including a cannabis business in Times Square.
But his most pointed comments came in a third video, where he spoke in Patois while directly questioning Jay-Z’s reputation in Brooklyn.
“Them never do the things they say, them never say them rap about things they never bust no bloodclaat clip,” Shmurda said in the video, claiming Jay has never shot a gun or done anything he’s said in his rhymes. “[I’ve been] in Brooklyn 20 bloodclaat years mi never heard them bust one shot inna Brooklyn. Mi never hear none of that.”
He continued by referencing Marcy Houses, the Brooklyn housing project where Jay-Z grew up, and saying he would go there and ask locals if they ever seen Jay commit a crime.
“We a go Marcy Projects and ask all of them, ‘Yo, who here seen him in a shootout here?'” Shmurda added.
The latest comments are the newest chapter in what has become an increasingly public campaign against the rap mogul.
Last month, Shmurda mocked Jay-Z’s viral freestyle from the Roots Picnic, where the hip-hop legend appeared to address several high-profile figures including Drake, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, and Dame Dash.
After clips of the performance surfaced online, Shmurda ridiculed Jay’s delivery and appearance in a series of Instagram Stories.
“Now niccas NWA lmaooo,” he wrote in one post.
In another, he joked about Jay-Z’s age and artistic evolution, writing, “Niccas be 56 years old going through identity crisis.”
He later compared the performance to theater, posting, “This nicca doing Shakespeare.”
The tension between Shmurda and Jay-Z isn’t new and has been building for some time. Earlier this year, Shmurda blasted the billionaire rapper during a livestream after being asked whether Jay-Z still runs hip-hop.
“Man, f**k them n****s,” Shmurda said at the time, before referring to Roc Nation as “Opp Nation.” He also claimed he would side against Jay-Z in any dispute involving the rap icon.
