A global pop sensation and Broadway star have quietly split after three years of dating, according to multiple reports.
Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have been broken up for several months, as reported by TMZ, PEOPLE and Page Six.
“Ariana and Ethan broke up several months ago but they’ve remained friends since then and have nothing but respect and admiration for one another,” a source told Page Six Monday.
“This wasn’t a decision they took lightly but realized they were better off friends than in a committed relationship,” the source added. “Ariana is feeling really happy and focused on the next chapter with her ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour and the upcoming release of her album ‘Petal.’”
Grande and Slater, both 34, first met while working on the set of “Wicked” in July 2023. The couple went public with their relationship in November 2024 after Grande separated from her then-husband, Dalton Gomez. Around the same time, Slater separated from his wife, Lilly Jay.
In June 2023, Jay blasted Grande to Page Six after news of his budding romance with the singer broke.
“[Ariana’s] the story, really. Not a girl’s girl,” Jay exclusively told Page Six. “My family is just collateral damage.”
However, a source told the outlet at the time that Grande and Slater “didn’t do anything wrong.”
“[Jay is] rightfully upset because her marriage fell apart, but Ariana and Ethan didn’t do anything wrong,” they said, adding that Slater had been separated from Jay for two months before romancing Grande.
Neither Grande nor Slater have publicly commented on the breakup.
