Kate Middleton finally has ‘a female ally’ in the royal family as she discovers ‘valuable relationship’ with new in-law

Kate Middleton has a new best friend within the royal family.

According to a source, the Princess of Wales is extremely close with Peter Phillips‘ new wife, Harriet Sperling.

Kate has an ‘ally’ in Harriet

An insider told Closer that Kate and her new cousin have bonded over their similar demeanors.

“Kate has never really had a female ally inside the family who shares her outlook on life, Harriet changes that,” the source said.

“Kate’s delighted to have Harriet in the family — they click naturally,” the insider noted. “There’s no awkwardness, they genuinely enjoy each other’s company. Kate and Harriet have found each other at exactly the right time and everyone around them can see how valuable that relationship could become.”

Kate and Harriet don’t need the spotlight

One common trait that the former Duchess of Cambridge and the nurse share is their lack of need for the spotlight.

“They have that same understated quality,” the source emphasized.

“Neither feels the need to dominate a room. Kate sees somebody who has worked hard, faced challenges and remained incredibly grounded,” the insider added.

Kate lets Harriet in on William and Harry feud

Kate has reportedly sought comfort from Harriet as Prince William continues to fight with Prince Harry.

“Kate’s shared her feelings with Harriet on how much the feud upsets her. It’s been really good for her to talk about it with someone,” the source claimed.

The brothers have been estranged since the Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle left The Firm in 2020.

Kate and Meghan didn’t hit it off

After Harry married the Suits star in 2018, the mother of three and Meghan realized how different they are.

“She [Meghan] feels like she’s constantly being judged by a completely different rulebook, a source told Star Magazine.

“No matter what she does, Kate will be the golden girl and she will be the villain,” the insider continued. “Kate’s the quintessential Brit who’s terribly reserved and somewhat inward with her emotions.”

Why Kate and Meghan are different

Per the source, the Duchess of Sussex “speaks her mind,” and “is not afraid to amend and improve the status quo.”

“Kate was always coloring inside the lines,” the insider explained. “She wasn’t willing to risk anything that could be perceived as breaking royal protocol.”
