Taylor Swift has joined music royalty on the ARIA charts after her latest track, “I Knew It, I Knew You” hit the top of Singles list this week.
The song, written for Toy Story 5, has debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Singles chart, gifting the pop superstar her 14th cut to reach top spot (“Love Story” in 2009, “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space” in 2014, “Bad Blood” in 2015, “Look What You Made Me Do” in 2017, “Cardigan” and “Willow” in 2020, “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” in 2021, “Anti-Hero” in 2022, “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version)” in 2023, “Cruel Summer” and “Fortnight” in 2024, and “The Fate of Ophelia” last year). All up, Swift has now spent 35 weeks at No. 1.
The US songwriter is now tied with Elvis Presley as the artist with the second most chart-toppers in Australia. The Beatles head the list with 26, although all of their and most of Elvis’ No. 1 hits pre-date the start of the ARIA charts in 1983.
Over on the Albums chart, Niall Horan has taken out No. 1 with his fourth record, Dinner Party. The former One Direction member previously reached No. 2 in 2017 with Flicker, No. 2 in 2020 with Heartbreak Weather and No. 1 in 2023 with The Show.
Meanwhile, newly-inducted ARIA Hall of Famers Vika and Linda have scored the No. 1 Australian Album with their ninth effort, Where Do You Come From?.
“We thought this week couldn’t get any better. It’s ended with a bang!!” the duo said.
