Taylor Swift Wears Givenchy at Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala

Taylor Swift endorsed Sarah Burton’s vision for Givenchy with her custom dress on Thursday night’s 55th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala red carpet in New York City.

The Grammy Award-winning singer sported a strapless gown from the French luxury fashion house, which has been under the creative direction of Burton since she joined Givenchy in September 2024. The dress was crafted with a base black fabric, with a scooped, rounded neckline and formfitting bodice.

Fabric draping was incorporated with an asymmetrical bent at the hips of the dress, giving way to a skirt that, with a thigh-high slit, cascaded to the red carpet and formed a short train. A bouquet of florals spilled down the fabric in tones of rich red, pink, blue and cream throughout.

The florals carried with them a stark similarity to the same motif on Cate Blanchett’s Cannes Film Festival Givenchy dress she wore in May. The actress’ gown hailed from Givenchy’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection.

As for accessories, Swift wore the 18k yellow gold imperial citrine diamond drop earrings by Mindi Mond and a diamond button back bracelet by Jessica McCormack. She also added a ring by Amrapali Jewels. Heels from Givenchy completed Swift’s attire.

When it came to glam, Swift turned to hair stylist Jemma Muradian for her low bun and fringe to frame her face. Makeup included lined eyes with a winged finish and Swift’s signature red lip by Lorrie Turk. The “Opalite” singer’s look was curated by stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer.

Since taking over the role of creative director at Givenchy, Sarah Burton’s designs have been endorsed by Swift, Blanchett, Cynthia Erivo and Jodie Comer, the latter of whom recently wore a black lace design at Wednesday night’s New York City premiere of “The Death of Robin Hood.”

Throughout her tenure, Burton’s emphasized the relationship between her designs and the the women wearing the clothes. “So when they put a jacket on, I can tell if they feel amazing in the suit. Quite often it’s very much an emotional process in the room with the model,” Burton said of her process during a conversation with WWD’s Miles Socha in November 2025.

“I want them to feel very Givenchy, but I also want them to feel like themselves so they’re not overpowered by the clothes. It’s almost like a conversation between the two.”

Taylor Swift joined the likes of Alanis Morissette and Kenny Loggins, among others, as a 2026 inductee into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The event was held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City and featured performances by Sombr and more.
