(KNOX) – The Grand Forks Royals were on the verge of a sweep of a west region road trip, but settled for winning three of four after a split with Dickinson Wednesday
After sweeping the Williston Keybirds Tuesday, Grand Forks dominated the Dickinson Roughriders 12-0 in game one of a Wednesday doubleheader Wednesday, but Dickinson rallied for a 5-4 win in the nightcap.
The Royals scored three runs in the top of the sixth in game two to take a 4-3 lead, but the Roughriders tallied twice in the bottom of the seventh to win in walkoff fashion.
Grand Forks pounded out 12 hits in the opener, and set a tone with a four-run third inning, then scored five between the sixth and seventh to run away with the win.
The Royals play Fargo Post 2 at Jack Williams Stadium Monday.
