Billy Idol guitarist Billy Morrison has unleashed a new song called “Hollow,” and it’s actually the title track off his upcoming album. The meaning behind the song is personal. It hits hard. There’s no faking emotions, and Morrison wears them on his sleeve in the track.
“The title track to my new album was inspired by the life that I led when I was homeless and addicted to heroin,” Morrison said in a statement. “Begging for money on the streets and being the guy that people crossed the street from, I would watch people’s faces as they walked towards me, gradually realizing they had to walk past me and being disgusted at how dirty I was, or that I was begging for change.”

He added: “That leaves an indelible mark on your soul and the song is about slowly crawling out of that hollow life.”
Morrison has released the song, as well as the lyric video, which is currently streaming on YouTube.
Morrison’s “Hollow” will arrive on Aug. 7. It also features the previously released single “Becoming,” which features rock vocalist Sully Erna and Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. Those aren’t the only big names on the release, either. The set also features guest appearances from Marilyn Manson, The Offspring’s Dexter Holland, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Billy Idol’s Steve Stevens and rappers Chuck D, B-Real and DMC.

The upcoming set will mark Morrison’s follow-up to 2024’s “The Morrison Project,” which featured a high-profile collaboration with the late Ozzy Osbourne.
