The news outlet confirmed with the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro that Oliver, along with five others, died in a crash involving two helicopters in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, which is located in the Southwest zone of Rio de Janeiro.

The accident occurred a week after Oliver played a concert in São Paolo, and before the pop artist — whose fourth album Love You Madly Hate You Badly was released in April of this year — kicked off the European leg of his then-ongoing world tour.
