Key Points
Whoopi Goldberg stopped mid-sentence to side-eye Sara Haines’ cell phone going off live on The View.
Haines comically panicked in the moment, exclaiming, ‘Uh-oh’ as she tried to deflect.
“It sounded like it came from you, Sara,” Sunny Hostin said.
When it comes to terrorizing cell phones interrupting live shows, the call is (usually) coming from inside the house over at The View.
Joining a long line of interruptive digital devices that have made their presences known at the Hot Topics table (from Joy Behar’s navigational assistant to her own blaring iPhone), Sara Haines‘ phone went off Monday on the air.
As is, at this point, a tradition on The View, the cohosts reacted in the moment while Haines comically panicked at the interruption.

“We also want to say congratulations to the Carolina…” moderator Whoopi Goldberg said at the top of the live show, teeing up praise for Stanley Cup champions, the Carolina Hurricanes, before she stopped to side-eye audible ringing coming from Haines’ phone.
“Uh-oh,” Haines said in the moment, while Ana Navarro immediately attempted to evade admonishment. “That’s her! Not me! Don’t look at me!” Navarro pleaded as Haines shut her phone off.
Haines quipped, “I don’t know whose it was. Was it yours?” while Sunny Hostin pushed back. “It sounded like it came from you, Sara,” Hostin said.
Navarro then segued away from the interruption by joking, “It’s Joy!” Haines and Goldberg laughed at the joke, before the show moved on as usual.
Behar is currently at the tail end of a two-week hiatus from The View, as she took a break from the program to travel abroad with her stage play My First Ex-Husband. She’s set to return Tuesday, rejoining the panel to interview Vice President JD Vance.
Outside of Haines’ phone, mysterious interruptions are no stranger to The View broadcasts. In addition to digital distractions, the show’s hosts have paused to address a variety of phenomena both from this realm and, seemingly, the paranormal sector.

Goldberg was famously distracted by an unknown entity wafting through the show’s airspace in January 2024, which prompted her to look upward and ask, “God? Is that you?”

Earthly interruptions that have caught the cohosts’ attention in the past rum the gamut, ranging from alleged backstage noisemaker Taraji P. Henson to an audience member recording the broadcast — after which Goldberg stood up and approached him while admonishing him for his behavior.
The View airs weekdays on ABC.
