Wilson Arts and Greenfield Fine Arts invite performers to audition for this summer’s community production of “Anastasia: The Musical” at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Edna Boykin Cultural Center.
Part of Wilson’s annual Summer Community Musical tradition, “Anastasia” will take audiences on a sweeping journey from the final days of the Russian Empire to the vibrant streets of Paris. Filled with soaring music, adventure, mystery and heart, the beloved Broadway musical follows Anya, a young woman searching for the truth about her past and discovering where she truly belongs.
Those auditioning should prepare 16 to 32 bars of a musical theater song and bring sheet music in the correct key. The acting portion of the audition will consist of cold readings from the script. There will be no dance or movement portion of the audition.
Auditions are for ages 10 and up and are free to attend. A participation fee of $75 applies only to those cast in the production or $50 for Wilson Arts members at the Family Giving level or higher.
Performances of “Anastasia: The Musical” will take place July 24-26, at the Edna Boykin Cultural Center.
Since 2011, Wilson’s Summer Community Musical has brought together performers of all ages and experience levels, showcasing the incredible talent found throughout our community.
