Jennifer Lopez is talking about her life after the divorce from Ben Affleck. The duo, who tied the knot on July 16, 2022, parted ways in April 2024. In January of last year, their divorce was officially finalized. Now, in a recent interview, Lopez opened up about her healing process after the divorce.

On the “SmartLess” podcast, Jennifer Lopez spoke about self-reflection after her divorce from Ben Affleck. The “Office Romance” star shared that she has shifted to a new home and that everything in her life “changed over the past couple of years.” She also mentioned how, at certain times, she left, as if life blew up in her face. Moreover, she talked about life and how she handled everything after divorcing Affleck.
Lopez explained, “And after my last divorce, I just sat there and I was like, I canceled my tour and I sat there and I was just like, ‘You need to f***ing figure yourself out. What is going on with you? Forget about everybody else. There’s nobody to blame here except yourself, in a certain way.’”
The 56-year-old added that she doesn’t feel that she was the sole reason for the split. However, she decided to examine herself after the divorce. “Not that people don’t behave in a way that’s not great, but [I asked myself] ‘What are you doing? What do you have going on?” the mother of two said. Lopez continued, “And that was that was a turning point for me. That was a couple of years ago now.”
The pop icon also shared how she had “an emotional time” as her kids will start attending college. “I’m also staring down — what is my life now?” she said. “The past 20 years, it’s been one thing, the past five years has been a tumult, and then the last two years has been kind of the healing process from that tumult where I really got to know myself.” Lopez also explained that she is a different person than she was two years ago, and now she appreciates herself for who she is.
