As my eyes started to flutter shut during my late-night TikTok doomscroll, suddenly, purple lighting began to radiate from my screen as “The Boy Is Mine” by Ariana Grande played. I then notice a baddie dancer. My eyes shot back open. I had to lock in. I read the caption. It says, “Who is this diva???” which took the words right out of my mouth.
I put the pieces together that this was from Ariana Grande’s current tour for her album, Eternal Sunshine. After watching “this diva” slay the stage, I had to look through the comments to find out who this diva actually is. I quickly found Amanda LaCount’s comment and perused her account, as a doomscroller does.
Amanda LaCount is a professional dancer, choreographer, and (as we’ve already discussed) an ABSOLUTE DIVAAA!!!! 💃✨💅

Amanda started dancing when she was two years old. Some other notable celebrities Amanda has worked with throughout her career include Rihanna, Lizzo, Meghan Trainor, and Lady Gaga. She’s just that girl.
Amanda also has her own movement called #breakingthestereotype™. The dance industry is notorious for promoting the tall and thin body standard, but Amanda proves that you don’t need to fit into this mold to be a great dancer. In her words, “If you love it, do it. It’s as simple as that.”

Lastly, this person claiming to be Amanda’s former instructor chimed in, which lowkey put me in my feels 🥹:
“I was Amanda’s dance instructor for a few years when she was a little girl — one thing I’ll say about her is that she’s ALWAYS known that’s she’s wanted to be a star. She’s worked INCREDIBLY hard her entire life to get where she is. Really really cool to see her live out her dream. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻”
