A stranger was spotted shouting “up the Villa” to Prince William and his reaction was totally priceless. It comes as the future King was seen at Royal Ascot this week
When you’re a Royal, you likely face all manner of public interaction, but Prince William recently offered the perfect response to a stranger who shouted at him. This week Prince William was spotted at Royal Ascot alongside his wife, Princess Kate, and a brilliant moment emerged as they were engaging with people.
The moment was shared on Instagram by Kings Guard Tours and the Royal couple looked glorious as they sat in the carriage. However, when people started talking to the Prince about football, it sparked quite a conversation, and people have been left totally in awe of the future King and his abilities to mingle with the crowd.
It’s not the first time the Prince has delighted people either. A few weeks back, he also reacted brilliantly to another man who called him in the street.
Footage was shared alongside the caption: “Prince William delights crowds with his football banter ahead of Royal Ascot. The Prince and Princess of Wales looked magnificently elegant as they boarded the Ascot Landau carriage during the Royal Procession on the second day of Royal Ascot.”
In the clip, you then see someone shout “up the Villa”, which sparked quite a conversation. This is perhaps because Prince William is a dedicated and lifelong supporter of Aston Villa.
After someone says “up the villa”, the Prince can be seen laughing, and he said: “I think people are saying that now. Are you?”
When the person implies they’re a supporter, William raises his hand as if to suggest it’s good news. He then goes on to add: “Good season.”
The video has been viewed over 400,000 times since it was shared, and people have been quick to comment too. They had all sorts of ideas to share.
One said: “The crowds and Prince are amazing.” Another added: “They seem so lovely and down to earth. He’s going to make a great King.”
A third replied: “What a stunning couple! The Princess is a vision in yellow!!” Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “Just just love these two. They will be the best King and Queen.”
Someone else also noted: “This is just gorgeous! The laughter and love they radiate! Our future King and Queen!”
Many thought both William and Kate appeared to be “so lovely”, and they loved watching them engage with the crowd. It was a brilliant moment for the Royals.
The footage comes as Royal Ascot continues this week. The annual horse racing event began on Tuesday, and will continue until Saturday.
The event takes place at the Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, UK. Reports claim Royal Ascot draws in an excess of 250,000 spectators across its five-day festival in June, which makes it one of the biggest and most well-attended sporting occasions in the entire country.
King Charles and Queen Camilla have also attended the event this week. Zara and Mike Tindall were also spotted with the Royals previously too.
