A celebrity farmer says this year’s Lincolnshire Show was “the best” he has ever attended.
The annual event, now in its 141st year celebrating the county’s rural life and produce, was held at the Lincolnshire Showground on Wednesday and Thursday.
It attracts thousands of visitors with its livestock rings, agricultural experts, garden show and local produce.
Speaking at the show earlier, former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher said: “You’re doing something fantastic here, I’ll be back.”
About 2,500 animals were at the show this year
Fletcher won the 17th series of Strictly Come Dancing and has his own show on ITV, Fletcher’s Family Farm.
He told the show crowd that he had been to the Yorkshire Show a few times and was in three counties last week.
Comparing these to Lincolnshire Show, he said: “This is the best. The way this is laid out feels like an agricultural show.
“It’s got to be a commercial endeavour and really celebrate agriculture but the balance and layout is absolutely spot on.”
The show is known for its livestock competitions
Visitors were also quick to praise the event, describing it as a “fantastic day” and something that “brings all the community together”.
“There’s nothing like it, you have to come every year,” another person said.
The 2026 show featured about 2,500 animals, with events that included fleece competitions, showjumping and best in breed, and a young sheep handler event.
It also included street food, live music and equine competitions, and has now drawn to a close – until next year.
