I’m quite looking forward to “Practical Magic 2” this fall, because a) 28 years is a very long time to wait for a sequel and I’m really curious what those lovely witch sisters (Gillian and Sally Owens, played by Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, respectively) have been up to in the interim, and b) the costumes are designed by Alexandra Byrne, whose rather glorious list of credits includes “Emma,” “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” (for which she won an Oscar), “Murder on the Orient Express,” and quite a lot of Marvel movies. Let’s hope she came to play. This early still of Kidman from the film doesn’t reveal much, except that the modern-day witch prefers sheer, dark, floaty garments accessorized by a black cat. Sounds about right. “Practical Magic 2” whizzes into theaters, presumably on broomsticks, Sept. 11.
