Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen is back with a new 24-track album, Day and Night, which is set for release on Sept. 18.
The double album will feature 12 songs for day, and 12 songs for night. It’s Jepsen’s first release since her 2023 record, The Loveliest Time.
According to a press release, each side of the album will have its own distinct vibe, with the day portion sounding “organic and raw, with live instrumentation and hints of ’70s-inspired psychedelic pop,” and the night songs feeling “exploratory and intense, shifting into a sleek, synth-driven world of dance pop.”
Jepsen is no stranger to synth-pop or dance pop, as her 2015 album, Emotion, was filled with earwormy, ’80s-influenced songs including Run Away With Me and Your Type.

The confirmed collaborators for the project have previously worked with Jepsen and include: Tavish Crowe, who co-wrote Call Me Maybe; Kyle Shearer, who worked on Julien, Psychedelic Switch and more; Nate Cyphert, who produced The Loneliest Time and other songs; and producer Cole M.G.N., who co-wrote and co-produced So Right — and is also Jepsen’s husband.
Several CBC Music producers got a sneak peek of the album last week, including the lead single On Wires, which will be released on Friday, June 26.
