Jennifer Lawrence can shut down a red carpet like nobody’s business, but it’s her breezy It girl street style what tends to quench our thirst for easy fashion inspiration.
Today, the actor was spotted commuting around New York City the way any local does: on a bike. And her effortless start-of-summer outfit was simply perfect. Up top, a striped cream-and-black button-down was rolled up at the sleeves and layered over a lacy white bralette. As for bottoms, black pull-on black pants were an easy solution for the hot day.
To shield her face from the sun, Lawrence popped on a black “Blank Check” baseball cap from the skate brand Alltimers, and a pair of inky-black rectangular sunglasses from Thistles.
Still, her footwear may have been the star of the show. The Die My Love star slid her feet into chunky sandals in tan suede. While at first glance they could resemble Birkenstocks, these are actually Hugo Boss slides. With silver buckle straps, the sandals have become a go-to for Lawrence on leisurely walks around the city, or as cherries on top of her cool school-drop-off fits.
Lawrence loves an interesting footwear moment. We’ve seen her flawlessly style everything from jelly sandals to Salomon hiking sneakers, to Mary Jane ballerina sneakers, to Uggs, to the Row’s controversial (but chic) sock shoes. So if Lawrence says we’re in for a chunky-sandal summer, I believe her.
