Benson Boone is singing about a former love in his new song “The Time of My Life.”
The 23-year-old singer stars alongside influencer Alix Earle in the music video for the song, which features them performing together in a theatrical play while he can’t stop thinking about his ex.
“I am having the time of my life / And I wish that you were still right here / I wish you came along / You, why did you leave me so soon? / Before all the flowers could bloom? / I wish you came along,” Benson sings in the first verse of the song.
In the chorus, he belts out, “‘Cause now that every day’s a party / Every night’s a nightmare / I can’t let go in my head /Without wishing you came along.”
Benson could possibly be singing about his ex-girlfriend, influencer and actress Maggie Thurmon. They broke up in late 2025 after around two years of dating.
This marks Benson‘s first new music of 2026 and while he hasn’t yet announced a new album, this feels like the beginning of a new musical era for the singer. Benson will be launching his Wanted Man Tour this summer.
