Not entirely sure how I managed to convince my mum and Brian to dress up as royalty with us at the Mountain Resort in Chengde, but somehow I pulled it off—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. We spent the day wandering around looking thoroughly ridiculous, laughing nonstop, and making memories we’ll be talking about for years. It was such a fun and unexpected family bonding experience, and seeing both sets of parents fully embrace it made it even more special!
