It’s been a rough road for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in the wake of their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s royal downfall.
While Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, seem to be a united front, palace insiders are claiming Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s marriage is struggling. Mozzi is a property developer and reformed party boy who is often found jet-setting all over the world instead of by his beloved wife’s side, per The Daily Beast.

She’s home with their two young children, Sienna, 4, and Athena, 1. Even when they do have the chance to sneak away, it seems like Beatrice’s husband is partying without her. She got sick during their romantic getaway to the French Riviera, and instead of tending to his wife, Mozzi was spotted out partying by The Daily Mail, who claimed he was “behaving as if he is single.”
Now, NewsNation‘s Paula Froelich is giving her opinion on the state of their marriage on The Royalist Podcast.
“She called him her rock, but here’s the problem. If you’ve got a rock, you would think that the rock would stick around in stormy weather,” Froelich shared.
“He’s been in and out and in and out all year, you know, going back and forth to the States,” she continued. “And then they took a lovely, fun, romantic trip to Saint Tropez at the invite of their friend Gabriela Peacock. And she got sick. So what did her rock do? Well, he left her in bed and went out and partied.”
Mozzi defended himself to the Daily Mail earlier this month, noting that it was “completely normal for a business owner to travel for work” because “it happens in every industry.” Still, Princess Beatrice is under enormous pressure due to her parents’ long-running association with Jeffrey Epstein, even after he went to jail for his crimes.
But Froelich fears that Mozzi is riding his wife’s royal coattails to score business deals, especially since they live rent-free at St. James’s Palace in London, thanks to King Charles and the U.K.’s National Audit Office report.
“People are very sympathetic to Beatrice. She’s very sweet and naïve, and she’s been feeling very fragile,” a Daily Mail insider added to Froelich’s reporting. “But fewer people are lining up to bat for Edo. Surprisingly, there are one or two members of the Yorks’ inner circle who don’t warm to him for some reason. They are saying that his financial woes are ‘karma.’”
Princess Beatrice and Mozzi were married in 2020.
