Everyone’s talking about Matthieu Blazy’s cool new Chanel—with its slouchy silhouettes, playful textures, and bold, romantic takes on suiting. But Lindsay Lohan will always make a case for the return of the ’90s.
This week, the Freakier Friday star stepped out in New York City in a look pulled from the French fashion house’s Karl Lagerfeld era. It consisted of a little black dress layered under a super-cropped bouclé jacket in an almost neon mint green. It was adorned with black trim and round black buttons emblazoned with the double-C logo in gold.
Accentuating Lohan’s waist was a chain belt with pink and blue beads, plus a dangly “CC” in gold. The ensemble hails from one of the most iconic and coveted Chanel drops from the 1990s: the Spring/Summer 1995 ready-to-wear collection by Lagerfeld, famously known as his “Barbie Collection.”
Blazy has notably given fresh spins to Chanel’s classic styles—such as the tweed blazer and skirt suit—but Lohan’s ensemble, with its fitted hourglass silhouette and bright pop colors, is straight out of the ’90s.
A pair of beige-and-black slingback heels in suede, and a little quilted pouch bag in black leather, rounded out the vintage Chanel look. And adding to the Barbie aesthetic, Lohan accessorized with big diamond stud earrings, oversize aviator sunglasses, and a glossy bubblegum-pink lip. Her blonde hair was down in a perfect blowout.
I just know her posh The Parent Trap character Annie James would feel right at home in this preppy designer look. The little girl is all grown up!
