Wedding planner RoseMarie Terenzio knows a thing or two about pulling off a secret ceremony — and she has some theories about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming nuptials.
Terenzio, known for planning John F. Kennedy and Carolyn Bessette’s secret 1996 wedding, appeared on the Monday, June 29, broadcast of CBS Mornings to share her insight about Swift and Kelce’s big day, rumored to occur some time during the Fourth of July weekend at Madison Square Garden.
Terenzio, for her part, has some doubts that the iconic music venue will be where the couple actually exchange vows.
“I don’t think it’s going to be at MSG,” she told hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson. “But I could see her doing something for her fans at MSG.”
Terenzio added that she “overheard a girl on the train” who was talking to her mother about the pop star’s wedding.
“And she said, ‘You know mom, Taylor has to invite us or do something to bring us into her wedding. We’ve been invested in her love life for so long,’” the wedding planner recalled the fan saying.
Terenzio added that Swift “has such an emotional connection to her fans and she understands that relationship so well,” which led her to theorize that Swift will have “something for the fans.”
“Maybe she’s already married and she’s going to do a slideshow at MSG,” Terenzio suggested.
King added, “Something is going to happen at Madison Square Garden. I do believe that. We just don’t know the extent of it.”
Terenzio also spoke to why people involved in Swift and Kelce’s wedding have been keeping the details very top secret, especially in the day and age of social media.
“People are so invested and I think they’re really invested in them having their moment. I really do,” she said. “Their effervescence as a couple, they’re always cheering each other on. I just think that people are invested in giving them a beautiful [moment.]”
Since Terenzio knows a thing or two about planning a secret wedding for two very public figures, she can pinpoint what it takes to keep things under wraps.
“Number one, it’s intimacy. It’s people you know very well and you tell only them. And the other thing is decoys,” she explained. “We left [fake] itineraries for Ireland around the office … had a travel agent print them up.”
Terenzio added that the planning process involves communicating without a paper trail and only speaking via the phone or in person.

“It’s more difficult, it’s not impossible,” she said of Swift’s ability, in particular, at keeping such a high-profile wedding secret. “I think those two can do it, and especially her. She has such savvy about everything she does. And I think she could do it.”
Swift and Kelce started dating in the summer of 2023 and got engaged two years later. Multiple sources exclusively told Us Weekly that Swift and Kelce wanted to get married in Rhode Island before ultimately opting on New York.
“Taylor and Travis really wanted their wedding in Rhode Island, and June 13 was the date, but security wouldn’t have worked because it could get out of hand with that kind of scale of an event,” an insider explained.
