The Pretty Reckless are leaning into their most vulnerable and cinematic chapter yet, releasing the official music video for Dear God, the title track from the band’s newly released fifth studio album.
Directed by George Gallardo Kattah, The Pretty Reckless visual arrives just days after Dear God landed via Fearless Records and gives fans another look into the darker, emotionally charged world the band have built around the record.
Driven by Taylor Momsen’s unmistakable vocals, Dear God trades explosive immediacy for something more atmospheric and immersive, the track gradually unfolds into soaring instrumentation and a powerful guitar moment, reinforcing the album’s themes of struggle, reflection and searching for something beyond survival.

The meaning
Speaking about the meaning behind the song, Momsen said:
“’Dear God’ is desperation set to music. When life gets that physical, that brutal, you leave your body and start begging something bigger than yourself to pull you out. That space between heaven and hell isn’t a metaphor. It’s somewhere you actually live.”
The release continues a strong run for the band following the arrival of earlier singles Love Me and When I Wake Up, while album opener For I Am Death previously delivered another major milestone, becoming The Pretty Reckless’ eighth Mainstream Rock Radio No. 1 (per Blabbermouth).
Across Dear God, the band push further into raw storytelling and emotional honesty, creating a record that feels intentionally exposed and unrestricted in its creative direction.
The album follows a huge period for The Pretty Reckless, over the past year the group appeared at the 2026 MusiCares Person Of The Year Gala, where Momsen honoured Mariah Carey alongside Foo Fighters, while also appearing with Soundgarden during their Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction performance.
The band also closed out 2025 with the release of Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas, a festive EP that saw a reimagined version of Where Are You Christmas? connect with audiences all over again.
With a headline Dear God world tour now set to follow their extensive global run supporting AC/DC’s Power Up tour, The Pretty Reckless look firmly locked into another major chapter. Will Australia be on the cards? Fingers crossed.
