King Charles and Prince William allegedly aren’t the only members of the royal family whose relationships with Prince Harry have become strained since he married Meghan Markle in 2018.
A royal expert has revealed that the Duke of Sussex has “barely spoken” to his cousin Zara Tindall in recent years, despite the pair once being incredibly close.
The 41-year-old royal is even said to have played a major role in Zara, 45, meeting her now-husband Mike Tindall during the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
Now, Duncan Larcombe has told Woman Magazine this week that Harry has “all but lost touch with his one-time playmate Zara”, according to sources.
“I understand they have barely spoken in the years since the prince met and married Meghan,” Larcombe added.
“Not only are they said to have drifted apart, but the old close friendship they once enjoyed has, I understand, almost entirely evaporated.”
Harry and his cousin haven’t been seen in public together since King Charles III’s coronation in 2023, where they were spotted enjoying a brief interaction.
Furthermore, Zara’s husband Mike took a cheeky swipe at Harry earlier this year, joking in a live interview that he knew the Duke of Sussex “when he was fun”.
The former England rugby star made the four-word jab while appearing at the Hay Literary Festival in Powys alongside his The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast co-hosts James Haskell and Alex Payne.
Looking back on his 2011 wedding to Zara, the 47-year-old joked that Haskell had managed to avoid embarrassing himself during the nuptials – unlike some other guests.
“A lot of other people managed that way better than you – [like] Harry, when he was fun,” he joked, The Times reported.
Harry, along with his wife Meghan, 44, and their two children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, are expected to visit the United Kingdom between July 6 and July 10 after living in the United States for four years.
The family will be embarking on the transatlantic trip to attend the One Year To Go Invictus events in Birmingham.
It is not known whether Harry and his family will see Zara and Mike during his visit.
