This came out in 2006 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
On the downside: It’s a three-year-old live recording. It doesn’t have Mr. Jones or Round Here on it. And well, it’s Counting Crows, whose R.E.M.-meet-Van-meets-The Band sound hasn’t exactly been taking the world by storm lately.
On the upside: It’s slightly heavier and louder than you’d expect — at times, Adam Duritz and co. almost rock out on this warm-sounding 15-song set. It has strong renditions of Rain King, Catapult, Miami and cuts from 2002’s Hard Candy. And if you skip the video, you don’t have to look at Duritz’s white-boy dreads.
