Apple Music has published a second collection of covers of songs by the late country musician Toby Keith, enlisting Tyler Hubbard, Jackson Dean, Kameron Marlowe, and Emily Ann Roberts to put their spin on his work.
It’s the second batch of ‘Apple Music Nashville Sessions: Toby Keith Covered’ live recordings, following a first group featuring Ashley McBryde, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Parker McCollum, Riley Green, and Tucker Wetmore.
It’s partly an effort to bring his work to a new generation of listeners – shown amusingly in the quote from Kameron Marlowe’s interview about the project noting that “Toby Keith is my grandmother’s favourite artist of all time”.
As with other Apple Music Sessions, every track is available in spatial audio. Country artists have figured prominently in the company’s wider stable of live-recordings, with Lainey Wilson, Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley and Riley Green among those taking part.
The artists featured in the new sessions have all been interviewed for The Ty Bentli Show on the Apple Music Country radio station, to be aired this week.
